XRS Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 My wife has just rung to say the window glass has come off its runner and is now jammed with the front end somewhere inside the door. She is 180 miles away and wondering what to do, so I sent her to her nearest Ford dealer in the hope of a quick fix.Does anyone have experience of this, or know what might have heppened? The car is a 2004 TDi Elegance which lives outside, so the chances are that something has rusted. Quote
chromedome Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 I think the glass is bonded/glued to the glass carrier mechanism and has probably parted. Not sure if can be re-fixed or a new glass required. Others on this forum will probably know more. Quote
seatkid Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 (edited) One of the plastic carriers or its wire in the window regulator will have broken. Requires new window regulator although if your inclined, you can get new wire kits on ebay and save a few quid. Garages will charge about Edited June 17, 2014 by seatkid Quote
XRS Posted June 18, 2014 Author Report Posted June 18, 2014 Thanks for the input, I'll see what I can do when the car comes back. Whatever it is seems to have pushed the door card off the door at the bottom. Quote
